Story: 2020–2021 — A World Transformed by the Pandemic
The global pandemic changed the world—and our lives—forever.
At this turning point, Jimmy returned to Taiwan after a working holiday abroad, only to find that his career path wasn’t unfolding as expected. Job after job, he began to question: Is this really the extent of design’s impact?
During a casual conversation with his good friend Yochi, they shared their experiences over the past few years. Both felt that the world after the pandemic had shifted dramatically—work structures and life rhythms had changed at an unprecedented pace.
One realization stood out: The rise of remote work had opened doors to new possibilities. This location-independent approach not only allowed them to collaborate with like-minded professionals but also made it possible to balance career growth with personal life. It was the kind of lifestyle many had always dreamed of.
That’s when an idea was born.
They envisioned a platform designed specifically for remote workers—a place where people wouldn’t miss out on great opportunities or exciting projects simply because of geographical limitations. A bridge to help freelancers and professionals pursue their passions while maintaining a high quality of life.
And so, in 2023, Want2Design Studio was founded.
The name “Want2Design” comes from the phonetic translation of WANT TO, reflecting our passion for design and creativity. We believe that design is more than just aesthetics—it’s a powerful tool for solving problems.
